Renee M. Langebau, 60 of Garwin died Friday, March 19, 2010 at her home in Garwin after a sudden illness. A memorial mass was celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garwin on March 23. Burial will be at a later date.
Renee Marie Langenbau was born October 17, 1949 in East Stroudsburg, Pa., the daughter of Richard and Grace Madden Wolbert. She received her education at St. Matthews Grade School and later graduated from Pocono Central High School in 1967. She continued her education at St. Joseph's Nursing College where she obtained her Registered Nursing Degree. On August 8, 1970 she was united in marriage to Harvin Langenbau in Stroudsburg, Pa. Harvin and Renee made their home in Gladbrook and Garwin communities. They owned and operated R & H Grocery in Garwin for many years. She also was a nurse Supervisor at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garwin and belonged to the Rosary Society. She also taught CCD classes at her church. Renee's death came at her home on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the age of 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband Harvin of Garwin, three children Shannon (Bryan) Smith of Garwin, Jay (Shell) Langenbau of Hanlonton and Mary Grace Vesely of Waterloo, 8 grandchildren with her 9th due in May., two brothers Richard ( Margo) Wolbert and Tracy Wolbert both of Stroudsburg, Pa.. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
