The Northeast Iowa Woodcarvers Club will host the 37th Iowa State Woodcarving Show on April 10 and 11, at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, 225 Commercial Street, Waterloo. The show is free to the public on Saturday from noon-5 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Carvings on display will include national champion bird and fish carvings, Santas, caricatures of all kinds, chip carving, intarsia and relief carving, full sized carousel figures and more. Carvers will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate woodcarving. Chainsaw carving will be going on throughout the weekend in front of the Art Center. Some woodcarvings will be available for purchase. Ribbons are awarded to winners in 42 different categories by experienced judges. Carvers from several states will participate. Supplies such as books, tools and wood will be available for purchase. Coffee and cookies are there for people who love to munch. Bring your whole family. Invite a friend.
