Dysart Reporter

Lenore Elizabeth Corcran Streittmatter (Norie),72 went home to the Lord on February 23, 2010 after a brief illness.

Born June 29, 1937 in Gladbrook, she was one of eleven children of Cora and Wilbur Corcran Sr. of Dysart and the beloved mother of 5 daughters; Dana, Annie, Genie, Mia, and Tammy. Lenore was a creative soul. She created a beautiful family, works of art, and crafts of all kinds. Her zest for music and dancing were well known. Even as her legs failed her, the music of her soul never kept her from dancing a jig whenever possible. Lenore worked hard throughout her life to provide better opportunities for her daughters. This meant many sacrifices for her and all were grateful. Most important, she taught them to be strong, self-sufficient, hard-working, and most of all, loving. She will be greatly missed by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Ray, Gene, Keith (Skeeter), Cliff, Larry, and Bill, and her sister; Lorraine.

She is survived by her brothers; Jim and Junior and sisters; Onie and Bonnie; her children; Dana Henahan, Annie Kidd, Ragena and Lee Jordan, Mia and Mike Farmer, and Tammy Harper; grandchildren; Kellie and Miles Stanley,

Tiffany Kidd, Zachary and Brandy Jordan, Matthew Jordan, Lauren Farmer, Michaela Farmer, Cora Harper, and Josie Harper, and great-grandchildren; Jacob, Riley, Ava, Camron, Carnelland Nevaeh and numerous neices, nephews and cousins.

There will be no viewing. The family received friends on Sunday, February 28 at Oakey's North Chapel, Peters Creek Road Roanoke Va.

Internment of her cremated remains will take place in the summer of 2010 at the Dysart Cemetery, Dysart. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Doctors Without Borders organization.
