John A. Wilimek, 85 of Traer died Tuesday, January 12 at his home in Traer after an extended illness. Service were held January 16 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Traer with burial at Buckingham Cemetery. John A. Wilimek was born on the family farm south of Traer on April 30, 1924, the son of Amiel and Alba (Petra) Wilimek. He attended Stormy Point Country School. John then began farming with his father. On May 30, 1954 he was united in marriage to Beuna Henningsen at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. They continued to live on the family farm until moving to Traer seven years ago. John enjoyed tinkering with his tractors and watching RFD TV. John's death came at his home in Traer after an extended illness at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Greve. John is survived by his wife Beuna of Traer; a son Brian (Laurie) Wilimek of Franklin, Tenn.; a daughter Marcia (Donald) Harrison of Reinbeck, 4 grandchildren: Richard, Christopher, Remington and Shyla and a sister Dorothy Riekens of Mason City. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. |
