By Joyce Wiese Tama County Supervisors Larry Vest, Kendall Jordan and Dan Wilken s met Tuesday morning with Mike Wentzien representing Region 6 Planning Commission. Recently Tama County was approved for a $294,876 Home Funds through the Iowa Department of Economic Development for home ownership assistance and rehabilitation of existing homes being purchased countrywide. Wentzien says the homeowner at 504 Johnston, Gladbrook, is eligible for the assistance under the County's Administration Plan. The rehabilitation contract will go to Troy Construction of Toledo. County Engineer Lyle Brehm reports he had hired a contractor to mud pump the pavement immediately adjacent to a bridge west of Tama on E49. Brehm stated it h ad become undermined. Brehm also told supervisors the rock he is placing on several gravel roads is being hauled by private haulers. This is being accomplished with local option sales tax money recently allocated by the Board of Supervisors. Claims paid for the past week came to $351,172.80 |
