The Johnson Family Strings will be entertaining at the pre-concert holiday social time, beginning at 6:00 pm. Cookies, hot cider and coffee will be served as the Johnsons play seasonal renditions. The name "Blackwood Brothers" has a rich heritage, and is synonymous with Gospel Music. Their music has been heard around the world on radio, recordings, television and in personal appearances. Their history includes a relationship with Elvis Presley, who made a surprise appearance with the quartet at the National Quartet Convention that was founded by the original Blackwoods. Widely recognized, the Blackwood Brothers have recorded over 200 albums and toured 47 countries. They won 8 Grammy Awards and 6 Doves, and were inducted into the "Gospel Music Hall of Fame" in Nashville, TN in 1998. Jimmy Blackwood, son of founder James Blackwood, continues the name of the Blackwood Brothers with traditional favorites and innovative new songs by the current quartet. Doors open at 6:00 pm.
