The Tama County Extension Office will offer the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009. The video program can be seen at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension Pest Management and the Environment (PME) program.

The local site for the Nov. 4 CIC is the Tama County Extension Office at 23 W. High Street, Toledo. Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the course runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The registration fee is $35 before Oct. 28 and $45 after Oct. 28. The 2009 course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 2, 3O, 3T, 3OT and 10. Topics to be covered include pesticide labels; pesticide stewardship; equipment calibration and safe application techniques and drift; white grubs in turfgrasses; cultural care of turfgrass stands; and a plant disease update.
