Dysart Senior Citizens

Dysart Reporter

The Dysart Senior Citizens enjoyed an afternoon with a delicious dinner on September 15, at the Community Building. The Catholic ladies did the serving. There was a lady from the Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging Meal Program to discuss what it is and if anyone would be interested in having meals as a group in Dysart. A table prayer was given by Mardean Hix, and Happy Birthday was sung to anyone having a birthday in September. Mardean Hix told of the new members on the board and their duties as we lost three members this year. Gayle Griffin is the new treasurer and Darlene Peters will help out when Gayle is gone. William Livingston will also serve on the board. Mardean Hix will be our new President and Wilma Loutsch will be secretary. Mardean had a humorous story which is always enjoyed. After lunch we had a drawing for door prizes and they went to Mardene Wilson, Esther Nelson, Millie Luze, and Betty Burmeister. A jewelry hanger made by Marlys Finzen went to Mardean Hix. We enjoyed everyone that came and also the residents from Sunnycrest. The next dinner will be on Tuesday, October 13. Hope more people will begin to come and join us. After lunch, we played 500 with four tables. High went to Doris Messer, second to Esther Nelson, third to Darlene Peters, and fourth to Marilyn Burhenn. Come every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. to play 500. Everyone is welcome.
