Sept. 12, 1929

The marriage of Miss Louise Dostal and Fred C. Salasek took place Tuesday, September 10, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dostal in Oneida township south of Dysart.

A number of Dysart businessmen have made arrangements to have the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps of the Becker-Chapman Post of Waterloo to put on a free bugle corps demonstration and drill on the main street of Dysart Wednesday evening September 18.

Sept. 14, 1939

Rev. Fr. Delay performed the wedding ceremony uniting Miss Sara Grace Foley and Albert Dethlefs at eight o'clock this morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wiebbecke are the parents of a daughter born Tuesday morning.

Sept. 8, 1949

Mina Untiedt became the bride of Melvin Pippert this afternoon at the groom's farm home. Rev. U. F. Groth, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, performed the double ring ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Peters, north of town, are the parents of a son, Stephen, born Sunday in Waterloo.

Sept. 10, 1959

The State Champion Dysart Night Hawks will leave Dysart Thursday evening by Greyhound bus for Pierre, South Dakota, where they will play Washington state's champions on Saturday afternoon.

The state archery meet was held Sunday and Monday at New London with Linda Seebach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orion Seebach of Dysart, winning the state intermediate championship in the instinctive division.

Sept. 4, 1969

Over 400 people enjoyed barbecued beef and the trimmings with the Dysart Lions Club Wednesday evening. It was the club's 14th annual barbecue.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Wauters of Marengo are parents of their first child and son born Saturday, August 23. He has been named Cary Nathan.

Sept. 6, 1979

Roger and Joann Heckroth of Cedar Rapids are the parents of a girl born on Sunday, August 26. She has been named Stephanie Ann.

After 36 holes of golf in the Labor Day Club Championship, Ned Seebach, Butch Keese and Jim Symonds were tied with a score of 156. In a sudden-death playoff, Ned Seebach was the winner on the sixth extra hole. Butch Keese was second and Jim Symonds was third.

Sept. 14, 1989

Wendy Heineman of Garrison and Mark Ewoldt of Dysart were united in marriage on Friday, July 28, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone.

Wedding vows were exchanged on Saturday, August 12, by Jill Klein and Todd Boisen, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Waverly.

Sept. 9, 1999

Roger and Dianne Schnebly of Dysart will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and a trip to Hawaii in October. They were married September 12, 1959.

School board candidates for the Union Community School District include Deb Oliver, John Robb, Reda Charmichael, and Denny McLaughlin.
