Five walks and key two RBI hits by Jake Rieter and Nate Bellmyer gave Union the 7-6 lead. Union couldn't hold the lead as the Pirates scored four in the seventh for an 11-7 win.

After the tough Hudson loss, Union came out flat against Wapsie Valley the following night and suffered a 5-4 setback. Union took the lead in the fifth on a two run single from Nate Bellmyer's bat. Wapsie Valley scored two in the seventh to steal the victory from the Knights. Cheyne Reiter, Jake Reiter, Nate Bellmyer and Garrett Prestemon each had two hits.
