July 18, 1929

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Krell and sons of Spokane, Wash., are visiting in the home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Thiele and family, south of town.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. John Mehlhaus was the scene of a fine reunion of the Mehlhaus families.

July 20, 1939

Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Roberts are parents of an eight pound son born last Friday afternoon in the Vinton hospital.

Howard Pollard, who has operated the Avon Theatre here since its opening more than a year ago, this week disposed of his business to Otto Reinke of Garrison.

July 14, 1949

Veryl Brightwell was named Commander of the M.G.P. Post 335, American Legion at the meeting held Tuesday evening at the Legion Hall.

More than 75 Farm Bureau leaders, guests and friends attended the annual Clark Township Farm Bureau picnic at the park in Dysart Sunday, July 10, according to Ora Seydel, Clark township director.

August 6, 1959

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hilmer are parents of a baby girl born last Tuesday morning at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She has been named Stacey Lin.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Brandt are parents of their fourth child and second son born Monday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

July 17, 1969

Gary Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reed of Dysart, left Monday for the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs to resume his studies as a first classman after spending a 24-day leave at home.

David William Bottemley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard L. Bottomley of Dysart, arrived June 27, in Korea. Sp. 4 Bottomley is a field radio repairman.

July 19, 1979

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kavalier have purchased the vacant lots from Mr. and Mrs. Fay Krug and will be building a home this summer in Dysart.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott Lindeman of Dysart are the parents of a daughter born July 11, at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo.

July 20, 1989

Karl and Mabel Aschenbrenner of Dysart will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 30, with an open house at the Community Building.

Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Becky Hach of Dysart and Randy Dvorak of Clutier. A September wedding is being planned.

July 15, 1999

Stephanie Shallady and Robby Dengler, both of North Liberty, were united in marriage on June 19, 1999, at the Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas, Nev.

Valerie K. Petersen of Dysart and Nathan S. Uemura of Ames are announcing their engagement and approaching wedding. An August wedding is being planned.
