July 11, 1929

Reports were received at the Reporter office yesterday afternoon that the State Highway Commission has placed their o.k. on the Tama-Benton County Line Road south from Dysart and that same will be placed on the State Highway improvement schedule. Dysart received a new fire truck plus all the equipment. (The truck is now in the city park for the kiddies to play on.)

July 13, 1939

John A. Suck, farmer living two miles northwest of Garrison, has corn that measures 12 foot. The corn was planted on May 8. Dr. C.R. Roberts will open a practice in Dysart on August 7.

July 7, 1949

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jacobsen are the parents of their second child, a daughter, born Tuesday morning in Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Sparks are the parents of a son born Sunday afternoon at the Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.

July 23, 1959

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Elliott are the parents of a son born Tuesday night at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. The infant has been named Kenneth Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. Don Lyons of Vinton are the parents of a baby born born Friday, July 17, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

July 10, 1969

Pam Palmer, the Eastern Iowa Band Queen, rode in the Dysart Jaycees 4th of July parade. Pam was also the Dysart-Geneseo High School Homecoming Queen. The Iowa Commerce Commission recently approved the removal of train depots at Dysart and Traer by the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad Co. According to reports, when the depot in Dysart is torn down an office will be established in the business district.

July 12, 1979

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hix became grandparents of Troy Michael Tampir on July 10, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Troy is the son of Michael and Jeanette Tampir of rural Swisher. Margaret Sears and Kevin Perrinjaquet exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. at the Dysart United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 30.

July 13, 1989

Ann Lorenzen and Charles Flatness of Corning exchanged their wedding vows on Saturday, June 17, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Jill Klein and Todd Boisen. An August 12, wedding is being planned.

July 8, 1999

Chris and Lisa Ollendieck of Cedar Falls are the parents of their first child, a girl, born on June 26. She has been named Erin Raye. Linda Halbach and Jason Sash, both of Ankeny, announce their engagement and approaching marriage. An August 7, wedding is planned.
