Grant awarded to Union Middle School

The Union Middle School was recently awarded a grant from the Dysart Community Foundation. The grant, in the amount of $ 555.00, was sought by the school to purchase a Viking Huskylock serger for the use in the Family and Consumer Science department taught by Lois Long. This special sewing machine that can stitch, trim and overcast a seam all at the same time and is nearly twice as fast as a conventional sewing machine. Participating in the award presentation include, (left to right), Ryan Moody, Vice Chair of the Dysart Community Foundation, r represtenting the Union School District, Mark Albertson, Union Middle school Principal, Lois Long, Family and Consumer Science Department teacher, and Donald Lyons, Chair of the Dysart Community Foundation representing the City of Dysart and its Council.
