Quarterback Garrett Woodson, 2008 captain and team MVP, has officially committed to attend Simpson College this fall. Woodson is the first Union quarterback to pass for over 1000 yards in back to back seasons while leading the Knights to 13 wins(6-3 in 2007 and 7-3 in 2008). In addition, he led the Knights to Union's first 3A post season appearance this past fall. Woodson plans to double major in Athletic Administration and Physical Education. Simpson College is a private Liberal Arts College located in Indianola, Iowa with approximately 1900 students. Simpson is a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association and is associated with NCAA Division III athletics. Woodson is the third Knight to commmit to play football this year. Earlier seniors Matt Harting committed to play at Iowa Western Community College and Cheyne Reiter to play at Buena Vista University. Three other former Knights are currently playing football at the college level including Matt Pipho (Miami), Michael Bruns (Dakota Wesleyan) and Rory Hennessy (Simpson).
