The Union Knights 7th grade girls made it two in a row with a big win at the Wolverine Invitational Track Meet. The Knights scored 160 points followed by Hudson with 129, New Hartford-Dike 82, Gladbrook-Reinbeck 76, Jesup 56, Aplington-Parkersburg 44 and NU 8.
In the shot put Union placed 3rd and 6th with Emily Freeland and Kylie Wrobel (23' 8" and 21' 8"). In the Discus Freeland and Maddie LaPage were 2nd and 3rd (59' & 56' 7"). The long jump saw Union again 2nd and 3rd with Rachel Bohnsack and Bre Bader 13' 8" and 13' 7". Raini Hilmer was first in the high jump with a leap of 4' 4".
In the relay events the Knights were second in the 4 x 800 with Katie Hilmer, Jade Handley, Nicole Groleau and Tessa Reiter (12:27), second in the shuttle hurdle relay with Jess Jacobson, Rachel Vaughn, Handley and Katie Hilmer (1:08.88), second in the 1600 medley with Olivia Burnside, Wrobel, Bader, and Jessica Bohnstengel(5:14.9), second in the 4 x 200 with Burnside, Lauren Barz, Wrobel and Bohnsack (2:07.5). Union was 3rd in the sprint medley with Josie Vaughn, Freeland, Bohnstengel, and Reiter (2:19.36) and 3rd in the 4 x 100 with Burnside, LaPage, Vaughn and Bohnsack in 1:02.22. The Knights continue to own the 4 x 400 winning with a time of 4:48.9.Runners were Raini Hilmer, Bader, Bohnstengel, and Brenna Allen.
In the 100m Union was 1st and 3rd with Bohnsack and Barz in 14.56 and 14.9. Allen and Raini Hilmer placed 1st and 3rd (1:08.6 & 1:12.12) and in the 1500 Reiter placed 4th in 6:00.05. Barz and Handley were 3rd and 4th in the 7 flight hurdles ( 16.5 & 18.1). Raini Hilmer and Kylie Wrobel placed 2nd and 6th in the 200m with times of 31.15 and 32.86. Brenna Allen placed 4th in the 200 hurdles (34.98) and Bre Bader was 5th in the 800m with a time of 2:53.9.
