#The D-G student body and staff, the Mayor, the Tree Board, Dysart's Trees Forever Coordinator, Mark Pingenot, Rick Krug, and other guests took part in the 2009 Arbor Day celebration and tree planting at D-G Elementary on Friday, April 24.

A welcome was given by D-G Student Council President Natalie Sallee. Tree Board Vice-Chr. Treva Clouse presented the new Tree City USA flag to Mayor Lyons who gave a short talk highlighting the work of Dysart's many volunteers. Rick Krug from Farmers Savings Bank of Traer shared facts about the dwarf linden tree which was planted. The bank contributed toward the purchase of the tree.

Awards were presented by the Tree Board to the fifth grade poster winners: Cole Moody, third place, Jayson Aschenbrenner-second place, and Jadin Hennings- first place.

Mark Pingenot helped the second and third grade Omnibus class members plant the tree and then presented a short talk about the importance of planting trees.

The elementary student body, under the direction of Katie Heaford, presented a great song , "We Are the People of the 21st Century," to close the program.
