With a season record now of 2-0 The Union Knights girls soccer team posted their second shutout of the season in a victory over the Hudson Pirates on April 14. The Knights scoring was led by freshman center forward Darian Powell, who had a hat trick for the second game in a row. She converted in the fifteenth minute, assisted by senior left forward Cathy Reiter. She scored again off a cross from senior left midfielder Emily Williams in the 22nd minute. Powell's final goal came off a penalty kick in the 54th minute of the second half. The Knights second leading scorer of the game was Reiter. She scored eight minutes in on a passing combination from Williams and junior center midfielder Lauren Bauer. Reiter got the second half off to a quick start with a goal at the 41 minute mark. Williams again assisted this goal along with sophomore right forward Kelsi Hilmer. The final goal scorer for the Knights was junior right midfielder Natisha Robb. She fired what looked like a beautiful cross into the upper far corner of the goal at the 49 minute mark. The Knights defense was led by freshman sweeper Brittany Frush and goalkeeper Whitney Blunt. Blunt had fourteen saves for the day. Final score, Union 6 Hudson 0.
