GARWIN- Floyd Francis Cutler, Jr., 64 of Garwin died Wednesday, March 18 at his home in Garwin after a short illness. Services were held at the Garwin High School Gymnasium, Tuesday, March 24. Burial was at Dobson Cemetery in rural Garwin. Floyd Francis Cutler, Jr. was born July 6, 1944 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Floyd and Vivian (Hall) Cutler Sr. He attended Garwin High School and graduated in 1962. Floyd continued his education at Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, and then operated a grocery store in Montour. He went on to become a meat cutter in Marshalltown for many years. In 1975 Floyd started the Matadors Band with his future wife, Cindy Wolfe, and on October 2, 1982 they were married in Garwin. They moved to St. Cloud Minnesota where they operated a bar for four years and then returned to Garwin. Floyd entered the police academy at Camp Dodge and took a job as town cop in Garwin while driving bus for GMG Schools. In September of 2001, he began working at Meskwaki Bingo and Casino as a certified police officer until his health failed. His death came on March 18, 2009 while surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his father. Floyd is survived by his mother Vivian of Garwin; wife Cindy of Garwin; two sons Floyd F. "Sonny" Cutler III (Kaci Wiegand) of Pella, Iowa and Lester McDougle of Garwin; one brother, Craig (Helen) Cutler of Okatie, S. C.; three sisters, Cheryl Hill of Garwin, Vicki (Lowell)LeMaster of Wonder Lake, Ill. and Julie (Dan) Upah of Garwin.
