April 4, 1929

Miss Agnes Paulicek and Loren Manley, both of Traer, were married Wednesday, March 27, in Garrison with Rev. A. B. Whitmore officiating. Miss Mayme Chernin of Chelsea and John Silhanek, Jr., of Dysart, were married March 29, at Toledo in the office of Justice E. M. Hufford.

April 6, 1939

Deepest grief and sympathy were expressed by the host of friends to the sorrowing relatives when it became known that Miss Bessie Kerr had died at her home early Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Moeller are rejoicing over the arrival of a seven pound son at Allen Memorial Hospital Thursday morning, April 6. This is the first child for Mr. and Mrs. Moeller.

March 31, 1949

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zobel were honored guests at a dinner Sunday in the Otis Hayward, Jr., home in the Geneseo community on the occasion of their 52nd wedding anniversary. Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Goken nee Strube were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church.

April 9, 1959

One of Dysart's well-known pioneer residents, Mrs. Louisa Von Lackum, will celebrate her 90th birthday anniversary Sunday. A special film, Enemy From Space, will be shown at the Avon Theatre this Friday night. Proud Rebel, starring Alan Ladd and Olivia deHavilland will be on the screen Saturday and Sunday.

April 3, 1969

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Reinke of Dysart will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 13, with a reception at the Grace United Methodist Church.

About 100 people from this and surrounding communities took advantage of the opportunity to view the new Geneseo parsonage last Sunday afternoon.

April 5, 1979

Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Janet Ericson and Mark Dunkelberger. A May 19, wedding is being planned by the couple. Walter L. Brandt, Dysart, has been elected to the board of directors of the Metropolitan Chorale. The Chorale is a voluntary group of singers who generally live in a 30 mile radius of Waterloo.

March 30, 1989

Darren and Sue Trunck of Marshalltown are the parents of their first child, a son, born Saturday, March 25, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He has been named Skyler Dwayne. Brian and Valerie Himschoot became parents of a son born Tuesday, March 21, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He has been named James David.

April 1, 1999

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Billerbeck of Dysart will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. They were married on April 4, 1964, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Sara Crooks and James Primmer would like to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. A May 1, 1999, wedding is planned at St. Paul United Methodist Church in La Porte City.
