If you have witnessed any of the musicals or show choir numbers performed by the high school students in our surrounding communities over the past 30 years, it is no secret that there is a great number of talented musicians and drama performers in this area. Where have they all gone? Where did they get their talent? Hopefully, that mystery will be solved in the next few weeks. Have you been involved in drama, musicals or some type of theatre in the past? Are you waiting in the wings? If you have longed to be part of a drama/musical production, this is your lucky day. Members of the Geneseo and Dysart communities have decided to bring the musical Godspell to Dysart and surrounding communities. The musical will be performed the first weekend of April at the Union Middle School.There are several opportunities for community members of all ages to become involved in this production. Details of the musical include: Setting will be updated and take place inside an internet caf, the major roles in the musical consist of 10 characters includes both genders, variety of ages, a full chorus is needed - will be singing off stage, musical accompaniment needed: Pianist, drums, electric guitar, need people to serve as Stage crew, technical crew lights/sound,publicity/Tickets. To recruit the actors and actresses needed for this production, open call auditions for the musical will take place on Mon., Feb.16 and Tues., Feb. 17 at the Dysart United Methodist Church from 7-9 p.m. If possible, people auditioning should bring along a monologue to read and be prepared to demonstrate singing ability (CD or tape).
